Lower Hutt Police investigating Cambridge Terrace serious assault

WELLINGTON

Lower Hutt Police are seeking information relating to a serious assault on Cambridge Terrace in the early hours of yesterday morning, which has left a man in hospital.

Detective Kylee Cusin of the Lower Hutt CIB says the 28 year old victim was involved in an altercation with a group of men and women at around 2.30am. They were travelling in a white 1992 Toyota Corona at the time on Cambridge Terrace, near the intersection of Wingate Crescent, Naenae.

The victim was knocked unconscious, suffering facial fractures and remains in Hutt Hospital this morning.

“We have charged two 23 year old Lower Hutt men with assault yesterday and they have been in police custody to appear in the Lower Hutt District Court today.”

Detective Cusin says Police have already spoken to a number of witnesses but would like to hear from anyone else who may have seen the incident or observed aggressive people in the area in the early hours of yesterday morning.
