Police acknowledge the outcome of the trial against the men and woman charged with participating in an organised criminal group and of unlawful possession of firearms. The jury in the high court in Auckland found Tame Iti, Emily Baily, Urs Signer and Te Rangikaiwhiria Kemara guilty of some firearms charges but could not reach a decision about whether they were guilty of participating in an organised criminal group. "Our role is to put the best evidence available before the court. We believe we did that. We will be taking the advice of crown counsel on any further representations to the court," said Commissioner Peter Marshall. Mr Marshall said Police needed to act on the information that was gathered prior to October 2007 and he will continue to support staff. END
