Semi-Permanent is excited to announce that documentary photographer, Stefano De Luigi, will be joining the Auckland 2012 line-up. Speaking alongside some of the biggest names in the creative world including Ron English, Alex Trochu and Wallpaper Magazine's Meirion Pritchard, Stefano will draw on his rich photographic experience for his presentation.

Stefano De Luigi is a familiar contributor to many international magazines including Stern, Paris Match, Le Monde Magazine, Time, and The New Yorker, although he is probably best known for his long term projects, which include "Pornoland" (winner of the Marco Bastianelli Prize in 2005) and "Blanco," visions of blindness, published by Trolley in 2010.

In 2006, De Luigi started a new project called "Cinema Mundi," which focuses on the alternative cinematographic scene and was transformed into a short 7-minute film that was screened at the Locarno Film Festival in August 2007. De Luigi has won the World Press Photo three times in different categories (1998, 2007, 2009), the Moving Walls of Soros Foundation in 2009 and Days Japan International Photojournalism Award 2010.

Stefan is a member of VII Agency, a photographic agency that documents conflict - environmental, social and political, both violent and non-violent - to produce an unflinching record of the injustices created and experienced by people caught up in the events they describe.
