Cheep Entertainment For The Whole Family At The All New Coca-Cola Easter Show

If you’re looking for cheep entertainment this Easter, you’d better get a moove on – to the All New Coca Cola Easter Show, happening Thursday April 5th to Monday April 9th at the ASB Showgrounds, Auckland.

With 169 years of tradition, the Coca-Cola Easter Show is an essential stop on Auckland’s event calendar, with the giant halls of the ASB Showgrounds transformed into an Interactive Farm Zone, where animal fans can get up close and personal with the creatures they love.

Alongside the prize bulls, sheep and cows are a virtual ark of others, including best-of-breed animals covering everything from sheep dogs, dairy goats, dairy cattle, alpacas and even clydesdale foals.

And interactive activities for the public include sheep shearing, Pasture Pals and even how to milk a cow!

At the neighbouring Alexandra Park, the equestrian competition runs for four days. This is a beautiful display of stunning horse breeds ranging from Arabian, Connemara, Pinto to Shetland Ponies and Miniature Horses, with new sections for standardbreds and show riding horses.

And as always, visitors to the Coca-Cola Easter Show will get to meet the Queen’s Cow, a cow not only owned by Her Royal Highness the Queen, but that also provides some of her personal milk requirements.

And this year the show boasts a low adult rate of only $25, with children 12 and under FREE for entry.

The Auckland Agricultural Pastoral & Industrial Shows Board rates the Coca-Cola Easter Show as a very special agricultural event. In the interest of excellence, they believe competition is the cornerstone for agricultural development - and that continues this year.

In fact, the A&P Show is a big part of why the Coca-Cola Easter Show exists every year, to bring country to city, and to provide an opportunity for the “City” to view first hand the impressive range of champion animals.

David Scott, Chairman of the Auckland Agricultural, Pastoral & Industrial Shows Board, says “This year the Coca-Cola Easter Show brings back many of the favourite entertainment features of the past and introduces some new exciting events for the public to enjoy.”

The All New Coca-Cola Easter Show Chief Executive Officer Mark Frankham believes 2012 sets a bold new direction of New Zealand’s most historic family day out.
