Police have just received confirmation that the Fijian family of the 22-year-old missing swimmer have been notified of his disappearance and his name can now be released.

The man is Eroni Ravaga-Gaunavou from Vanua Levu in Fiji. He arrived in New Zealand on a visitor's permit in February to play rugby for Puketoi Rugby Club.
