MANAWATU District Council will be well represented at a number of Anzac Day services to be conducted throughout the region on Wednesday, April 25.
District Mayor Margaret Kouvelis is to attend the commemorative services in Feilding and Apiti, while Councillors John Baxter, Alison Short, Howard Voss and Barbara Cameron will lay wreaths at ceremonies in Bunnythorpe, Halcombe, Rongotea and Sanson respectively.
Mrs Kouvelis said it was with an “enormous sense of respect” that the Manawatu District community came together to “honour and remember those who gave their lives so we can enjoy the peace and freedom that we experience today”.
