Body Discovered In Devonport

North Shore Police say the body discovered in the Waitematä Harbour at Devonport this morning was that of a deceased male aged 70 years.

The body was found near the Devonport Ferry Terminal.

Police say a formal identification has yet to be completed but they believe they know the deceased man’s identity.

The deceased man’s car and some personal possessions were located nearby.  An autopsy will be held tomorrow.

Police say the autopsy will help to determine the time and cause of death. They are not seeking anyone else.
