Len Brown has written to the Breakers basketball team letting them know all of Auckland will be backing them when they meet the Perth Wildcats in tonight’s Australian National Basketball League decider at Vector Arena.

The Mayor will once again be courtside for the final match-up as he was for the first game in the series, which the Breakers won in extra time.

“It will be history in the making tonight,” says Len Brown. “If the Breakers beat the Wildcats, it will be our second ANBL title in a row.

“All of Auckland is behind the team as they take on Australia’s best. I know they can do it and just want them to know there is overwhelming support for the team across the city.

“The Wildcats levelled the series with a one-point win in Perth on Friday. I am confident with a capacity hometown crowd at Vector and the rest of Auckland and New Zealand behind, the boys will hold onto the ANBL trophy for another year.”

Tip off in the decider is at 7:30 tonight at Vector Arena.
