MANAWATU District Council is hoping to receive a number of late responses as a customer survey seeking the reaction of those who dealt with its Building Services Department in 2011 is about to close.

The customer survey – a second for the district after a similar exercise in 2010 – ends on Monday, April 30.

Regulatory Supervisor Karel Boakes said the survey was part of the department’s commitment to providing an effective, efficient and friendly service regarding applications for Project Information Memoranda (PIMs), building consents, Certificates of Acceptances, Certificates for Public Use, Code Compliance certificates and provision of building information or advice and building complaints.

Ms Boakes said 92 of the 600 survey forms posted out in March to customers who had dealings with council last year had been returned.

“A 15 percent return is not a massive response, but could be a sign that people are satisfied with the service. There is still time for people who want their viewpoint to be heard.”

She was hoping for a return that matched or bettered the 2010 survey when ratings of “good” or “very good” were recorded in 53 to 80 percent of the building service areas covered.

The survey form is also available at the customer service desk at the council’s administration building in Manchester Street, Feilding, and online via its website here.
