Police in South Auckland have arrested a 16-year old male in relation to an alleged kidnapping at Pioneer Stadium in Christchurch, on 1 April.

The teenager appeared in the Youth Court at Manukau today (Tuesday 24 April) on a charge of kidnapping, and was remanded in CYPFS custody.

He is from Christchurch but has recently been living in Auckland.

It is alleged the youth jumped into a woman's car at the swimming pool complex, held a stick to her throat, and forced her to drive for several minutes before the vehicle stopped at Sparks Road, Hoon Hay.
