Stunning images of Sydney are the centrepiece of a new tourism campaign devised by Destination NSW to tempt New Zealanders to experience the harbour city’s seductive schedule of unique events, new attractions, fashion stores, restaurants, bars and nightlife.
Launching the “Love Every Second in Sydney” winter campaign, NSW Tourism and Major Events Minister, George Souris, said elements of the campaign are sure to turn heads in Auckland where prominent outdoor media will be used to display spectacular images of Sydney generated by Sydneysiders and visitors alike.
“Sydney is a great place to visit all year, but the campaign encourages travel to Sydney during our mild winter, suggesting ways to explore and enjoy the city’s many world-class attractions, experiences and events,” Mr Souris said.
“The campaign shows how every second in Sydney during winter there is something exciting happening around the clock.
“Media channels have been chosen to capitalise on high-impact, high-quality visual imagery and will include outdoor billboard advertising in prominent Auckland locations.
“There is also very strong print advertising, digital and social media focus to the campaign.
“For instance, the print advertising component of the campaign uses iconic images of Sydney in a scenario that follows a couple enjoying 48-hours at locations, events, attractions, restaurants and venues in Sydney.
“In the social media component, Sydneysiders and visitors are being urged to share images of their favourite Sydney events, places or experiences, which will be incorporated into the advertising campaign.
Destination NSW, Chief Executive Officer, Sandra Chipchase said “The campaign theme captures what research has shown people want in short breaks and weekends away: exciting, vibrant experiences packed into every second.”
“Sydney really comes alive in winter as there is so much to see and do with stunning nightlife, spectacular shows, unsurpassed events and festivals, all with the spectacular backdrop of our dazzling harbour.
“Love Every Second in Sydney’ highlights our city’s amazing array of experiences as well as the city’s signature events during the winter months.
“Sydney offers an exciting schedule of “only in Sydney” events during the campaign period including Vivid Sydney (a celebration of lighting effects and installations along Circular Quay), the Sydney Film Festival, the world premiere of the musical “An Officer and Gentleman”, the 18th Biennale of Sydney and the Bledisloe Cup, to name just a few,” Ms Chipchase said.
Destination NSW has partnered with Qantas to offer special travel deals during the campaign.
