The free buses before and after rugby games and the park and ride system have proved so successful that the service will continue for the rest of the Crusaders home matches in the Super-15 rugby season.

Environment Canterbury, Christchurch City Council and the Stadium Trust have funded the free buses which are available to passengers who present their ticket to the game. Buses leave from local hubs and return there after the game.

Environment Canterbury Passenger Transport Manager David Stenhouse says the service has proved to be popular with patrons keen to get to the game without having to find a park near the stadium.

“Families especially have appreciated the service and it is great to see so many of them out there enjoying the games. We have had plenty of positive feedback, which is why we have decided to offer the free buses for the rest of the season.’’

The service will also be available when the All Blacks take on Ireland on 16 June.
