Children Overdue during School Trip

Police and Search and Rescue teams are searching an area of the lower Kaimai range for ten year 11 students who failed to return from an orienteering exercise during a school camp.  The missing children are all from Tauranga Intermediate School.

 

The Police have released this information to alleviate the concerns of other parents who have children attending other school camps in the area.

Search teams, a Police dog and a helicopter are involved in the search.  A second helicopter is on route to assist with the search.

No further details will be released about the children involved until their families have been notified.
