Successful Youth Week

The Youth Council has run a number of successful events to celebrate this year’s Youth Week. Youth Council Chairman Logan Clarke says, “It was great to be able to offer a variety of events. We enjoyed organising them and it was great to see the events well supported. Overall, Youth Week 2012 was a huge success thanks to the hard work of the Stratford District Youth Council.”

Two On the Bus events were held. On the Bus is an opportunity for young people to attend an arranged activity out of town at an affordable price.  The first On the Bus was in partnership with the Stratford Lions Club, where Year 8 students from throughout the District enjoyed rock climbing at the YMCA and swimming at the Aquatic Centre in New Plymouth. The second On the Bus event saw a full bus go roller skating at East End Skating Rink. There were also great turn outs to the Amazing Race Stratford, the youth service
and the barbecue breakfast.  Youth Week ran from 19 - 27 May.
