The Samsung Olympic Truck Experience will be resident in Britomart for the next two weeks, beginning tomorrow.

The truck is a travelling interactive museum of New Zealand's Olympic past allowing people to experience and take part in it themselves.

This is the first ever mobile museum of its kind in the world and is a partnership between Samsung and the NZ Olympic Committee.

The Truck will be open to the public from 8.00am to 5.30pm every week day and 10.00am till 5.30pm weekends and Queens birthday. The Samsung Experience Truck will be on site at Britomart until the 17th June.

In it people can:

• Take a photo of themselves wearing a replica Olympic Gold medal – see what it feels like to stand on the winners’ podium as the crowd goes wild. Then, share the photos with family and friends via Samsung’s Facebook Page.
• Hold a replica of the London 2012 Olympic Torch
• Browse great New Zealand Olympic moments spanning 100 years of Olympic history using a specially designed mobile App.
• View videos of well-known New Zealand celebrities sharing their stories of what makes them proud to be a Kiwi at the Proudest Moments video station.
• See memorabilia – including the shoes Peter Snell wore to train for the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo and a replica of Valerie Adams’ Shot Put which won her gold at the 2008 Games in Beijing.
• Guests will also have the chance to view the full range of Samsung technology.
