The Met Service has issued a heavy rain warning today affecting the ranges of Buller and Northwest Nelson, which could see 100mm or more of rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday, 5 and 6 June.

Rain should become heavy around midday Tuesday and, in the 24 hours following, affected areas could expect 120 to 150mm of northerly rain. The heaviest falls around 25mm per hour are expected Tuesday evening.
