Around this time every year the award-winning team at The Outfit Theatre Company turn their attention from grown-up adult theatre to their annual family adventure adaptation. Having previously produced two acclaimed seasons of Treasure Island, and a much-loved version of King Arthur, the Outfit Theatre’s mid-winter school-holiday spectacular at TAPAC has rapidly become the must-see family adventure show of the year. Thus, Outfit Theatre are thrilled to announce that this year the talented team are taking on one of the most beloved literary classics of all-time, Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland or Alice.

Renowned as exciting and original storytellers, the Outfit Theatre’s family adventure shows offer a whole new dimension in school holiday entertainment. Deliberately designed to appeal to the whole family and not just the kids, Outfit Theatre take their trademark style of gutsy and explosive entertainment, and apply the blowtorch to a much loved family classic. Praise for their previous family adventure shows has been glowing, with Theatreview praising Treasure Island; “The quality and energy this crew of performers delivers is top notch...a children's show not to be missed”, and calling King Arthur; “a brilliantly batty almost-hour of madcap shenanigans...a must-see family holiday treat”.

One of the common denominators in Treasure Island and King Arthur was the skilful performances of Outfit founding member Chris Tempest, as lead characters Jim Hawkins and King Arthur respectively. Now firmly ensconced as Dr. Josh Gallagher on Shortland St, Chris’ lead role has been passed to Outfit Co-Artistic Director (and fan-favourite as Morgana in King Arthur) Sarah Graham. A talented and dynamic performer, Sarah has previously wowed family audiences in Auckland Theatre Company’s The Twits, and the Duffy Books in Homes school tour of The Duffy Show.

Joining Sarah in this brand-new Outfit adaptation of Alice is a hugely talented cast of skilled and hilarious performers including Outfit resident ensemble; Joel Herbert (Shortland St, King Arthur, Treasure Island), Ema Barton (King Arthur, Treasure Island), Elliot Christensen-Yule (Red, Little White Men), Brad Johnson (King Arthur, Treasure Island) and Andrew Ford (King Arthur, Treasure Island). Joining the Outfit regulars are some extremely exciting and talented emerging performers who are loving the opportunity to create a family show that really delivers for the whole family.
