There are many questions around at the moment about the 2012 refund payment dates & just when people can expect their tax refunds to be paid out.
Some people who have applied with tax agents, or through the IRD, are curious to know why tax refund payments are delayed and when they can expect to have their money.
With the huge volume of personal tax refunds it is handling, the IRD is experiencing some delay but is assuring kiwi's that payment dates will begin very soon for the bulk of 2012 applicants.
We know it has been a long wait but we can let you know that the IRD will be releasing 2012 refunds later this month, from June 25th onward.
This is the latest information from the IRD so while it is unlikely to, it could change.
If you have applied with a particular tax agent, it is important not to change agents or re-apply with another agent in the meantime. This could lead to further delays in your refund being paid out, if your current agent has filed your 2012 return already.
Customers of some agencies can expect to obtain their refunds faster than others, with MyTax.co.nz reporting that it is one of the tax refund agents that will be able to get refunds paid out promptly once the IRD switches on the green light.
