Breach of Air Quality Standard for PM10 in the Blenheim Area

In accordance with regulation 16 of the Resource Management (National Environmental Standards for Air Quality) Regulations 2004, referred to as the NES, Marlborough District Council gives notice that the NES for PM10 has been breached in the Blenheim airshed in the year from 20 June 2011.

The Marlborough District Council monitors PM10 concentrations relative to the NES at air monitoring sites in Middle Renwick Road and Redwoodtown.

The NES for PM10 allows the threshold of 50 µg m-3 to be exceeded on no more than one day per year. The NES has been breached on 9 occasions in Blenheim for the year from 20 June 2011.
