Pukekura Park has been awarded for being universally praised on a holiday review website.

TripAdvisor has named Pukekura Park as an exceptional performer in its “global business community” for receiving consistently top ratings from the public, and has issued a Certificate of Excellence.

Curator Pukekura Park Chris Connolly says the commendation came out of the blue.

“The really great part about this is that the recognition is driven by visitors’ experiences,” says Mr Connolly.

“We haven’t gone out to win this award. We’ve just been doing our job every day, making sure Pukekura Park is presented well and operates smoothly, and it turns out the public think we do a pretty good job.

“It’s fantastic to hear that visitors have loved the park so much that they’ve made an effort to tell others about it.”

The reviews on TripAdvisor come from national and international visitors, and local residents. Of the 13 New Plymouth attractions listed, Pukekura Park holds the top spot with the Coastal Walkway second and the mountain in third and fourth place.

Reviews of Pukekura Park highlight a range of features, including Brooklands Zoo, the cricket ground, TSB Bank Festival of Lights, Tea House on the Lake, TSB Bowl of Brooklands, free mobility vehicles, the variety of landscapes within the park, and Pukekura’s central-city location.
