The Royal New Zealand Navy Band is coming to Taupō to perform its annual concert at the Great Lake Centre on Friday 20 July. The band, which has performed in Taupō for the last nine 9 years, is highly entertaining and popular.

Led by Warrant Officer Shaun Jarrett, the Royal New Zealand Navy Band is a fulltime, professional group located at the naval base in Devonport, Auckland.

Predominantly a concert band, it has diversified in recent times to meet changing needs of the military and public. New groups have formed to accommodate these changes, including the addition of a big band, a rock band, jazz quartet plus brass and woodwind ensembles.

This year’s concert will feature two themes – the first half is titled “We Will Remember Them” – a tribute to the ANZACs and the second half is titled “Carnaval Proms”.

Tickets range from $10 to $16 and are available from Ticketek. For more information go to www.taupo.govt.nz
