Schoolchildren have the opportunity to be inspired by the world's best netballers at the New World Netball World Championships next week as winners of the "Adopt a second team" competition.

Coordinated by Auckland and Waitakere city councils, the competition encouraged school classes from year 4 to 8 to support a team other than the Silver Ferns, and learn more about both the team and their country by answering a number of questions and displaying them creatively on an A2 poster.

Winning classes have been allocated 30 tickets to one of their adopted team's pool matches at The Trusts Stadium in Waitakere. They include:

Pomaria Primary School - Cook Islands, Wales, Australia
Western Heights Primary School - Fiji, Wales, Samoa
Sunderland School and College - Scotland
Ranui Primary School - Singapore
Diocesan School - Barbados
Nga Kakano Christian Reo Rua Kura - Singapore
Henderson North - Jamaica, Singapore
St Pauls - South Africa, Malaysia
Lincoln Heights School - Trinidad and Tobago
Marist School - Samoa, South Africa

The posters will be on display at The Trusts Stadium netball village during the championships.
