Western Bay of Plenty Police have charged two men in relation to the robbery of two French tourists in the Western Bay of Plenty on Saturday, 7 July, 2012.

Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Turner said that two men were interviewed following a series of search warrants in the Tauranga / Mount Maunganui area this morning.

A 26-year-old man from Ngaruawahia and 24-year-old man from Mount Maunganui will appear in the Tauranga District Court tomorrow (Wednesday, 18 July) charged with aggravated robbery.

As the matter is before the courts there will be no further Police comment.
