PEDESTRIAN STRUCK BY COMMUTER TRAIN ON THE HUTT RIVER RAIL BRIDGE IN LOWER HUTT.

At about 8.00pm on 31st July 2012, an unidentified male has been struck by a southbound commuter train at the side of the tracks. The  man died at the scene,suffering multiple extreme injuries to his body. Police are currently investigating the circumstances leading to this tragic incident. The matter has been referred to the Coroners Office.

The Male is described as Maori or Polynesian, aged in his mid to late-thirties,approximately 175cm(5'10") Tall, of solid build,unshaven,with dread-lock hair, wearing dark track-pants and a black t-shirt.
Police are seeking assistance from members of the public regarding the identity of the man or the circumstances surrounding his death.
