There was another NZ Olympian at the Aquatic Centre in London this morning. It was none other than NZ Water Polo referee Cory Williams who was refereeing the Womens Water Polo Quarter Final this morning between Great Britain and Spain. This is the ultimate appointment for Cory refereeing at the Olympics, and comes after he has officiated at a number of previous FINA events at World level. Cory was appointed to London as one of FINA’s neutral referee appointments and comes after Liz Burman( Athens 2004) and Steve Knights (Beijing 2008) were also appointed as FINA’s neutral referees.
