Lions to roar in the Hutt

The Wellington Lions will play a pre-season match against the Manawatu Turbos at the Hutt Recreation Ground on August 8 at 2pm.

Hutt City Council is working closely with the Wellington Rugby Football Union to give Hutt residents the chance to see their heroes in action.

“We’re looking at opportunities for the Lions to become role models and local heroes within our community,” says the council's general manager of community services, Matt Reid.

Entry is a gold coin donation, with proceeds going to the New Zealand Rugby Foundation. Schoolchildren get in free.
