New Zealand’s original Jet boat operator is welcoming an experienced Queenstown local to the sales and marketing team following the company’s recent rebrand.
Ginny Goding joins KJet as Sales and Marketing Conference and Incentive Co-ordinator at an “exciting" time for the company as it launches new look branding and livery for boats and vehicles.
Born and bred in the South Island, Ms Goding brings many years of sales and marketing experience to the role, as well as extensive knowledge of the Queenstown region’s tourism and adventure industry.
Ms Goding previously spent six years in a sales and marketing role at adventure operator Kiwi Discovery, most recently as Sales and Marketing Coordinator, and before that held a number of roles at ski area company NZSki.
Her role at Kiwi Discovery saw her forge strong relationships with local agents through training, product familiarisation, relationship building and marketing projects, all skills she is keen to bring to her new position.
“I’m really excited to join the team at a time when KJet is going through a major re-branding launch,” she said.
“I’m really looking forward to sinking my teeth into new projects in what will be a very busy role in New Zealand and throughout Australasia.
“There is so much potential within KJet, in particular with untapped markets in the C&I area.
“While my primary focus will be a lot more on C&I than my previous roles, I’ll still be dealing with local agents with whom I’ve built up a great rapport, a part of my job I really enjoy.”
KJet Sales and Marketing Manager Melinee Kong said she was “delighted” to welcome Ginny to the team.
“She’s a well-known face around town, and we have no doubt KJet will benefit greatly from her experience and relationships within the wider tourism industry.”
Operating for over 50 years, KJet is an enduring feature of tourism in Queenstown. The ‘once in a lifetime’ Jet boat experience from KJet has thrilled countless numbers of visitors to Queenstown since 1960.
“It’s a busy time for KJet at the moment,” said Ms Kong. “The launch of our new branding has seen a new look to the KJet logo, imagery, website and brochures, all of which we believe better reflect the excitement and thrill of our trips.
“Ginny will be an important aspect of the new direction for KJet as she works with our network of local agents to implement the look and feel of the brand.”
KJet is the only Jet boat company in Queenstown offering an hour-long trip covering 43km through the crystal-clear waters of Lake Wakatipu, the Kawarau and Shotover rivers.
“It’s an hour of sheer power on the best boats in the district, real Jet boating with real, down-to-earth, friendly and welcoming local drivers,” said Ms Kong.
