Whittaker’s introduces its latest creation for people who love chocolate and like to support a good cause. White Raspberry chocolate has been developed especially to support the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation, which will receive 20 cents from every block sold during Breast Cancer Awareness month in October. This is expected to raise a minimum of $25,000 for the charity.

The idea came from five Samuel Marsden School students participating in the Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) as the company ‘Pink’ who approached Whittaker’s to see if it was possible to do something pink with chocolate to raise money for the Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.

Whittaker’s Brand Manager, and Marsden old girl, Holly Whittaker, instantly thought it was a good idea and took it to the Whittaker’s team. The result is White Raspberry chocolate, which is an infusion of natural raspberry into Whittaker’s traditional 28% cocoa white chocolate.

Recently voted New Zealand’s Most Trusted Brand, Ms Whittaker said the company is always looking for ways to give back to its loyal customers, and decided that creating a brand new product especially to support a good cause would be a meaningful way to do this.

“Almost everybody knows someone that’s been affected by breast cancer, and we think people will like knowing that by treating themselves, or their loved ones, to some White Raspberry chocolate they’ll also be supporting the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation,” said Ms Whittaker.

One Whittaker’s new product released this year – Peanut Butter chocolate – sold out quickly after appearing on shelves. With an extra reason to try to White Raspberry chocolate, it is also expected to be in demand.

“We’re delighted to have had the opportunity to work with the students on their YES idea to raise money for breast cancer awareness and make their vision a reality. As a unique product that wowed our taste-testers, White Raspberry is set to become a great addition to our range,” said Ms Whittaker.

Whittaker’s White Raspberry chocolate is available nationwide in 250g blocks, at the same price as the rest of the Whittaker’s 250g range.
