Bomb threat closes down part of Auckland CBD

AUCKLAND CITY

The Auckland District Court has been evacuated following the receipt of a bomb threat.
 
This has necessitated the closure of Albert and Federal Streets between Victoria Street and Wyndham, and Kingston Street at the Hobson Street intersection. 

Motorists can expect delays and are advised to avoid the area.

Some bus routes will also be affected and bus companies are being advised.

The building will be cleared by specialist staff who are en route.

Incident Type: Bomb Threat Update



Bomb Squad personnel have dealt with an unattended bag left in a public waiting area of the District Court. The bag contained no dangerous material.
Cordons will be lifted shortly allowing normal traffic onto Albert Street however Kinston Street outside the court will remain closed as police check the rest of the building.
Court will resume for the afternoon session at 2.15 pm.
