Christchurch Police are investigating an attack on a 58 year old woman at her home in Dallington at 10.15pm on Wednesday 3 September 2008. The woman was in bed at her home address when she was awoken by a male intruder who subsequently assaulted her before fleeing.

The Police are conducting a thorough scene examination at the house and conducting area enquiries in the vicinity of Halberg Street and Snell Place, Dallington, where the attack occurred.

Police are very interested in hearing from anyone who was in the vicinity of Snell Place late last night and may have seen any suspicious people or vehicles, or from anyone who lives in that area who may have had problems with prowlers or suspicious people visiting in recent times.
