The All Blacks' have kept their long standing record of 21 wins and no losses to Ireland winning 22-3 and holding Ireland scoreless in the second half.
With the score 3-3 right on half time McCaw was denied a touch down in the corner only to be awarded a penalty try after the ball was deemed to be deliberately knocked out in goal by the Irish 14.
The second half saw Ma'a Nonu go over and Brad Thorn scored a classic charge over try, showing why he is so valuable to an All Blacks side on the Grand Slam tour.
Ali Williams was awarded the man of the match for his performance.
The ABs will play Munster on Wednesday (NZT) then Wales in Cardiff on Sunday (NZT).
Munster are the only Irish team to have beaten the AB's when they won 12-0 during a 1978 Grand Slam Tour which the ABs won.
