70 Police staff, along with NZTA vehicle inspectors and Court staff, were involved in Operation 4 & Rotary on Friday 20th February 2009.

Police were targeting illegally modified vehicles and driver behaviour. 15 vehicles were impounded for unpaid fines, and/or being illegally modified. A large number of infringement notices were issued for driving and speeding offences.

Police staff involved maintained a high presence throughout the night.

The operation will continue tonight (Saturday 21st Feb) with Police maintaining high visibility policing, targeting illegally modified vehicles, speeding, drink driving, and other trauma promoting offences.
