A Male has been airlifted to hospital at Palmeston north after being shot in the leg. His condition is Staus Two.

The Male was taken to a payphone phone in Union Street Central Foxton at 4.30pm where emergency services were alerted.

Enquires are being made to establish the location of the shooting and police are not ruling out gang conections
