Police are at the scene of a single vehicle serious crash that occurred at 5am this morning on State Highway 16 Waimuaku.

State Highway 16 between the Muriway turn off and the Taiapa Bridge is closed for the next half an hour while the Police Serious Crash unit examine the scene.

Police will advise when the road is open.
