Two Year Old Child Missing In Henderson

Henderson Police are continuing their search for Aisling [pro. Ashling] Symes after she wandered off from an address in Longburn Road, Henderson yesterday evening at about 5.30pm.

Aisling is aged two years. She is a tall girl for her age, of European appearance, with light brown hair.

Aisling is believed to be wearing green parker jacket or ski jacket, blue jeans embroidered with flowers, and has white tennis shoes on her feet.

Police in Henderson are keen to hear from anyone who was in, or near Longburn Road Henderson, between 5.15 and 6.00pm last evening.

In particular, Police would like to hear from a young Asian woman who may have spoken to Aisling on Longburn Rd around the time she was last seen.

Police have based their search operation at the Pömaria Road School.

At 215 am this morning, the Police search operation involving staff from Police, Fire, Civil Defence and Neighbourhood volunteers was stood down for the night, but Search and Rescue staff remain on stand-by at the search base in case any information or sightings are received.

The Police search operation will recommence at 6.00am this morning with a briefing followed by an intensive ground search.

In concert with the ground search will be an area canvas by Police staff, speaking to residents in the near vicinity, many of whom have already spoken to Police.

Henderson Police specifically request residents of Longburn Road, Kingdale Road and Rathgar Road to check their properties for Aisling, particularly sheds, out buildings, fence lines or other places that a small child may explore or hide in.

Henderson Police extend thanks to all those persons who last evening volunteered their time in the very inclement weather to search for Aisling, but Henderson Police ask that people wishing to assist in further searches wait for a specific request for further assistance before returning.
