A collision between two vehicles on Tamaki Drive at about 1.50am this morning has left four people injured, two of them critically.

The crash, between a silver Ford Mondeo travelling east and a westbound white Toyota Estima occurred outside the Tamaki Yacht Club clubrooms.

The 65 year-old male driver of the Mondeo is in a critical condition in Auckland Hospital, as is one of the five male occupants of the Toyota Estima.

Auckland City Police Serious Crash Unit is investigating and are appealing to witnesses of the crash or to anyone who saw either of the vehicles prior to the crash, to contact them on 09 359 3109.
