A fatal motor vehicle accident occurred yesterday(Friday) evening at approximately 7.30pm on Glenbrook Road, Patumahoe. The head-on accident occurred between two vehicles, an Isuzu Mu being driven by a 48 year old male and a Mitsubishi Galant being driven by the 18 year old deceased male.

The 18 year old male Dylan Shane CAMPBELL of Waiuku was ejected from the cabin of his vehicle onto the road where other motorists attempted to provide first aid. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash is still being carefully investigated be the Police Serious Crash office, but from initial accounts it appears Mr CAMPBELL has lost control of his vehicle, crossed the centreline and slid into the path of the oncoming Isuzu motor vehicle which was travelling east towards Auckland.

Due to force of the impact, the vehicle driven by Mr CAMPBELL sustained extensive damage.

Road and weather conditions were not ideal at the time, but it is unsure if they may have been a contributing factor. Police are urging motorists to take care and drive to the conditions at all times.
