"The Mazda car sought by Christchurch Police in relation to the death of a woman at an Aotea Terrace address in the suburb of Huntsbury has been located.

This morning a member of the public reported the car to be in Riverlaw Terrace, Christchurch (near the Heathcote River across the road from Hansen Park). This location is about two kilometres away from the homicide scene. The vehicle is now the subject of a forensic examination.

Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the Silver Mazda Lantis car registration WL7343 anytime since 0900 a.m. Thursday 18 February, 2010.

Over thirty investigators are working on the inquiry. The inquiry team is focusing on scene examinations and conducting inquiries in the area near the homicide scene and where the Mazda car has been found.

Acting Detective Inspector David Long says it is now believed a burglary has taken place at the woman's address and her death is related to this crime.

A 0800 number, 0800 HUNTSBURY (0800 486872), has been established and anyone who has information is asked to contact that number.
