Police investigating the weekend murder of a woman on the North Shore say her identity has been confirmed through dental records.

Detective Senior Sergeant Kim Libby of the North Shore CIB says the deceased is a former English immigrant who has been living in New Zealand for several years.

Relatives in the United Kingdom and elsewhere have been informed and accordingly her name can now be formally released.

The name of the deceased woman is:

BLACKBOURN/Jacqueline
DOB 9/8/1966 – Age 43 years
Resident of Glenfield – Single

Police say they have yet to speak to a man who was found at the address in View Road, where the body of the deceased was discovered.

This man has serious burns and is being treated in hospital.

He is now out of an induced coma.

Police forensic experts are still at the address and enquiries by investigators continue.
