At about 5.45 am this morning, police went to execute a search warrant at a Kamo address, relating to a 35 year old man and drugs related matters.

10 police staff and the Armed Offenders Squad attended to cordon the address and conduct the search.

After an hour of trying to contact the occupants of the house, a woman and 4 children left the address.

Tear gas was subsequently used to encourage the male to leave the house, but at this time he has not, and still remains inside the house.

Police at the scene are particularly appreciative of the assistance given by the staff of the Kamo High School in managing pupils who have been affected by this ongoing incident. All students are still requested to remain away from the school until the situation is resolved.

The incident in Kamo is now over. The roads are now open in that area and the pupils can now make their way to the Kamo High School.
