North Shore Police advise that a three year old female who was admitted to Starship hospital earlier this year with a severe head injury has died.

Seini Unaloto IKAMANU received a severe head injury at her Beach haven home on 24 March 2010. She died in Starship Hospital yesterday 6 December 2010.

A 27 year old man was earlier this year charged with assault on a child.

Seini never recovered from her injury. She was in palliative care until her death. A post mortem will be carried out today.

Police have not ruled out further charges being laid.

North Shore CIB has no further comment to make.
