Auckland Unleashed, the discussion document to kick-start the Auckland Plan guiding the city’s growth and development over the next 30 years, received nearly 4000 pieces of feedback from residents and stakeholders.
Mayor Len Brown said the idea of the discussion document was to involve people early in the planning process before the draft Auckland Plan goes out for public consultation in August with more definitive proposals on where and when development will take place.
“We’re taking this early feedback very seriously. I really want people to follow up when they see the draft plan and submit further on the direction the council proposes to manage growth and promote economic development.”
Most feedback came through electronic channels including emails, online forms, the People’s Panel and social media outlets.
More than 7000 copies of the full 220 page Auckland Unleashed document were downloaded from the council website.
