Rotorua Police have been investigating a death after a body was located on Wednesday afternoon in a derelict building in Tyron Street, Whakarewarewa.

The body has now been identified as that of a 55 year old Rotorua man.

A scene examination was conducted on Thursday morning, and a post mortem was carried out on the deceased Thursday afternoon.

The investigations to date, along with the results of the post mortem have ruled out that there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding this death, and the matter has now been referred to the Coroner.
