Police warn motorists driving between Hawera and Stratford on SH3 to take extra care as there is a fuel spill along most of the highway.

The particularly bad areas are between Eltham and Normanby.

Police are currently attending two minor crashes on this length of road and there are reports of rain falling in some of the areas and this is making the road very slippery.

Roading contractors are on way to assist with this incident.
