As a result of a cattle truck catching on fire approximately 3km south of Tatuanui on SH27, the highway is blocked and diversions are in place via Kereone Road and Cussen Road.

No other vehicles are involved and no one was injured however some cattle on the truck had to be put down at the scene by a vet.
