Torpedo7, New Zealand’s largest online outdoor sports store, has launched a new fishing category, providing an extensive range of well-known fishing and marine brands.
The new offering features a broad range of products from leading brands including Penn, Berkley, Accurate and Shimano, all available at market-leading prices.
Race Louden, Torpedo7's sales and marketing manager, says that the development of a fishing division was a natural next step for the online sports store.
"We saw a clear gap in the online shopping market for quality, internationally-recognised fishing products, available at affordable prices. New Zealanders love their fishing and want to be able to access the best products, without being hit too hard in the wallet. The Torpedo7 fishing section will give them the best of both worlds."
The new addition to Torpedo7 has already proved a hit with customers.
"Torpedo7 website traffic doubled in the hour post-launch and we received 1500 orders in 24 hours. We launched with 1400 products but are adding another 2000, at a rate of 100 products per day, to keep up with demand."
The Torpedo7 website was founded in 2003 by Luke Howard-Willis, to provide customers with a greater range of reasonably priced sports brands. Since then it has grown to become one of Australasia's most popular online sports stores, recently celebrating its one millionth order.
