Media Release by New Zealand PR firm Impact PR: New Zealand heating solutions company Rinnai has today announced a 20% increase in trans-Tasman export sales.
The Kiwi designed and manufactured fireplaces are in high demand across the ditch with 113% growth in Australian states such as Victoria.
The sales growth follows the introduction of several innovative new fireplace models, alongside the trial of a new distribution model which saw a premium dealer network established to actively promote the company’s range of fires.
Rinnai General Manager of Sales and Marketing Mark McCutcheon says the company has been buoyed by the success of this model in Victoria and now plans to roll it out across the country in 2013.
McCutcheon says with a backdrop of decreased new home building in Australia the Rinnai sales growth has come from increased market share in a competitive environment.
To capture this growth, Rinnai previously identified 16 specialist fireplace outlets across Victoria who could offer a high level of end-to-end service for sales and installations and contracted them into the new Rinnai Premium Dealer Network.
As part of this network the expert retailers committed to displaying Rinnai fireplace models and utilised specific network signage across point of sale which lifted the profile and professional display of Rinnai fireplaces across the state, says McCutcheon.
“This programme enables Rinnai to deliver a high level of customer service, installation and aftersales support to customers purchasing Rinnai fireplaces exported to Australia,” he says.
In an effort to continue this momentum each premium dealer store within the network is given a sales target which is established for the calendar year, says McCutcheon.
McCutcheon says the sales increase has also been driven by several key new fireplace models launched at events in Australia. He says over the last two years Rinnai has introduced four new model ranges with class leading efficiency and a modern design ethos which make Rinnai fireplaces more desirable than existing competitive offerings in the market.
“The new entry level Compact 2 fireplace has been a hit along with the flagship Arriva 752 also in strong demand. Our design success coupled with the new relationships we’ve developed through the establishment of the new sales network has been very rewarding for us.”
