In Sunday’s stunning 3-1 win over Melbourne Heart the Wellington Phoenix wore a unique, once-only black adidas strip designed by team members in aid of Cure Kids
The game was themed specifically for the occasion as a “Black Out”.
The adidas strip was designed by players Andrew Durante, Tim Brown and Leo Bertos using adidas online customization tool miTeam.com.

adidas New Zealand Brand Marketing Manager Adam Daysh said adidas are thrilled to be able to profile their customisation tool in association with the Wellington Phoenix and Cure Kids
“We are really excited about this new tool which will allow sportspeople of all levels to design their own specific strips. To be able to launch it with the Phoenix and to benefit Cure Kids was a fantastic opportunity”Daysh said.
“The Phoenix are an important partnership for us and the opportunity to work closely with the club on this project has been fantastic.”
One hundred per cent of the proceeds from the TradeMe auction will go to Cure Kids.
Cure Kids turns research into hope for children who live with life-threatening illnesses and their families, by funding vital medical research.
Cure Kids Business development director Josie Spillane said Cure Kids were pleased to have the opportunity to profile the important work the organisation does.
“We have an excellent relationship with the Wellington Phoenix and are proud to be one of their two principle charity partners,” Spillane said.
“Events such as Sunday’s game are so important for us to be able to profile the work we do helping children and their families who are dealing with life threatening illnesses.
"Paul Ifill and his partner Elle Isaac have been great supporters of Cure Kids for several years so it was only fitting he displayed some cure kids
magic to score two goals in the match. I'm sure his jersey will be a fiercely sought piece of memorabilia”
