Grants From Rates Closing Date is 31 August 2012

Tasman District Council allocates $184,000 for grants to community organisations. These grants are made to organisations whose services and projects provide wide community benefit and wellbeing in the Tasman District.

Categories

• Community and Economic Development Initiatives
• Arts/Culture/Heritage
• Festivals and Events
• Youth/Children
• Social Services
• Beautification Schemes
• Emergency Services
• Community Newsletters
• Community Development Fund (small communities)
• Museums

Criteria

The grants provide assistance for:

• Administration costs (limited);
• One-off projects (not major capital projects);
• Development costs;
• Community newsletters;
• Local histories;
• Beautification schemes.

The grants DO NOT provide for:

• Salaries, building or land purchase (and major capital projects);
• Sporting activities, activities which are the responsibility of other funders;
• Activities that are the responsibility of government agencies (education, health and employment).
