Fatal Shooting in Sunset Road, Mangakakahi, Rotorua

At about 4.40 p.m. on Thursday, 9 July 2009 Police received a report that two people had been shot dead at an address in Sunset Road, Mangakakahi, Rotorua.
The area was immediately cordoned by Police and the Rotorua Armed Offenders Squad (AOS) deployed to the address.
The house was subsequently cleared by AOS staff who located the bodies of a man and a women outside. A firearm was also located near the bodies.
Police are still at the scene trying to establish what has occurred. Rotorua CIB has commenced a homicide investigation.
